The five young women who will be presented by the Krewe of Cypress of Plaquemine this fall were feted at a summer social at the home of Kitty and Dean Martin in St. Francisville on July 27.

The women also will serve as maids at the krewe’s annual Carnival ball.

The debutantes, their mothers, grandmothers and sponsors were treated to brunch while they visited with one another. The mothers and sponsors of the young men who will serve as dukes for the ball also attended.

The 2025 ball theme and costume designs were shared with guests.

Ball captains are Ragan Pruitt and Ryan Pruitt.

The debutantes honored are:

  • Daniella Sofia Alvarez, daughter of Lisette and José Paul Alvarez, and presented by her cousins Josh and Nedi Alvarez Morgan
  • Anna Catherine Bradford, daughter of Amy and Jerry Bradford
  • Cassidy Lane Canella, daughter of Lani and Patrick Bidwell and Randy Canella
  • Claire Elizabeth Guerin, daughter of Shawn and Brad Guerin
  • Juliana Mayer Hebert, daughter of Eric Lions Hebert and Kitty Rills Hebert

The presentation ball will be Nov. 29, and the Carnival ball is scheduled for Feb. 15 at the Carl F. Grant Civic Center in Plaquemine.

The Krewe of Cypress was founded in 1979 by a group of friends in Plaquemine and hosts an elegant presentation ball each fall to introduce their daughters and granddaughters into society. Three weeks prior to Mardi Gras, members gather to create a magical, mystical fantasy in a spectacular Mardi Gras ball with these same young women as royalty.
