The new Louisiana Public Broadcasting documentary short, "Southern University Law Center: A Civil Rights Dream Come True" will have its Baton Rouge premiere from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday in rooms 129 and 130 of the SULC.
The documentary, a nationwide collaboration between Louisiana Public Broadcasting and Maryland Public Television, explores the critical founding and crucial legacy of the historic institution.
The public is invited to the free screening, which will be followed by a panel discussion.
The panel members exploring the school’s past, present and future includes Eric Hatfield, vice president of legal compliance and regulatory affairs at Dane Street; Rachel Emanuel, former director of communications at SULC; Professor Angela Allen-Bell, B.K. Agnihotri endowed professor at SULC; and Clarence ”C.C” Copeland, LPB president and CEO.
The discussion will be moderated by third-year SULC student Whitley Parker, Student Bar Association president.
