A new member of the Byronz franchise opens Monday for dinner.
The reimagined Bistro Byronz is now Brasserie Byronz at 515 Mouton St., Baton Rouge. With dishes like chicken paillard, crawfish and grits, pot roast bourguignon and steak haché, the restaurant will serve "Frenchie-American" fare, along with sandwiches, burgers, salads, sides, appetizers and dessert.

Pan-roasted redfish at Brasserie Byronz comes with green beans, herbs and sauce amandine.
At the bar, an expanded cocktail menu includes six martinis, four spritzes, three mocktails, eight craft beers and more. The signature cocktail section features "The Fallen Saint," made with Laird's Straight Applejack Brandy, ginger, honey, lemon and Herbsaint Float.
While the restaurant concept has been in the works for 18 months, the Mid City location closed for business Sept. 2 for renovations. The interior features ambient lighting, a sophisticated bar with arched millwork, red banquettes and an overall moodier space.

The interior at Brasserie Byronz features a renovated space with new flooring, banquettes and bar area.
Brasserie Byronz now creates three distinct Byronz dining experiences across Baton Rouge, including Bistro Byronz at 8200 Village Plaza Court and Pizza Byronz at 8210 Village Plaza Court.
Mike Kantrow Sr. and his brother Byron Kantrow Jr. started the original Byronz Sandwich Shop, which opened in its original location in 1979 at South Eugene and Government streets. Bistro Byronz opened its Mid City location in January 2021 at the site of the former White Star Market, a multiple-restaurant open space for diners that closed shortly after the COVID lockdown.
While the name and concept has evolved in Mid City, patrons can still expect the same hospitality and community focus from the Byronz Family Restaurant Group.
