A Baton Rouge woman was killed Tuesday morning in a head-on collision on La. 30 in Ascension Parish, State Police reported.
Tina Gettridge, 36, of Baton Rouge, was a passenger in a 2022 Dodge Charger, driven William Kaufman, 32, of Baton Rouge, according to a State Police news release. The eastbound Dodge crossed the centerline in an attempt to get around traffic about 5:30 a.m. and collided head-on with a 2006 Infiniti M35 near Gateway Drive, the release stated.
Gettridge was pronounced dead at the scene. Kaufman and the driver of the Infiniti sustained moderate injuries and were transported to a hospital, troopers reported.
As part of the ongoing investigation, standard toxicology samples were obtained and submitted for analysis.
